The Trouble With "Oxy-Type Cleaners"
The trouble with those "oxy-type cleaners" first and foremost is
their deceptive name. Oxygen products don't clean – they bleach.
Therefore, a more accurate name would be oxy-spotter or oxy-agent.
Some of these products are formulated into powders and liquids that,
when used on carpet, usually leave a white powdery residue that can
be difficult to remove, especially when too much is used, or mixed
too concentrated. These high concentrates can also permanently
discolor some carpet fibers. The best oxygen spotter for carpet
comes in a clear liquid form that looks just like water. It leaves
absolutely no residue and will not harm the color of your carpet.
